The Smoked Prosciutto and Beer Flavored Pork Rolls it’s an Easy and quick recipe to make, prepared with just a few simple ingredients: Pork Loin, Speck, Sage, Nutmeg and Beer!

The Pork Loin with Beer Sauce is one of those dishes that you can prepare for a quick lunch or a dinner with friends. If you are short on time, but still want to make a good impression, this Pork Roulade with Beer is the ideal recipe to make!

This recipe is made with speck but, if you can’t find speck you can substitute it either with Pancetta (Italian unsmoked bacon, ideally flat and not rolled) or slab bacon. Italian speck (kind of a “smoked prosciutto”, but still different) looks like bacon but it’s made from the pork leg instead of the belly.

Instructions

  1. To prepare the Pork Rolls with Beer, start by arranging the pork loin slices on a cutting board, possibly beating them with a meat tenderizer if they seem too thick.

  2. On each slice of meat lay a slice of speck (or bacon), wrap the slice on itself starting from the short side, fasten with a toothpick and stick a slice of sage onto the toothpick.

  3. Melt a knob of butter in a large nonstick skillet and meanwhile flour the loin roulades, shaking them to remove excess flour. When the butter is melted, place the loin roulades in the pan and brown them on both sides.

  4. At this point, deglaze with the beer and let the alcohol evaporate for a few minutes. Add a pinch of pepper, sprinkle with nutmeg, adjust the salt and continue cooking.

  5. When the cooking juices are creamy, turn off the heat and serve the Pork Rolls with their sauce!
