The Chicken Pizzaiola is a very tasty main course from the Italian culinary tradition that can be prepared quickly and easily. Made with a few simple ingredients, the Pizzaiola Style Chicken is made with Chicken Breasts, Tomato Puree and Mozzarella. This is the real one, from an authentic Italian recipe: simply irresistible!

Skillet Chicken Breast Pizzaiola is the ideal dish to make for a lunch with the whole family or for a dinner with friends. We assure you that Chicken Pizzaiola will win everyone over, especially the little ones! But these Pizzaiola Chicken Escalopes are also ideal for when you are short on time and don’t really know what to make.

We know that Chicken Pizzaiola is also very well know abroad but please pay attention: Italians never serve this with pasta or rice. Yes you can use bread to do what we call “fare la scarpetta” (using a crusty bread to mop up the flavorful sauce) but that’s all: do not add parmesan, bell peppers, nor other strange sauces.

Go and try this awesome dish and, of course, if you’d like you could easily turned chicken pizzaiola into veal pizzaiola or beef pizzaiola (just choose your meat and swap it in the recipe, leaving the other steps untouched).

  1. To prepare Chicken Pizzaiola, start by cooking a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil in a large nonstick skillet. Once hot, add the chicken breast, adjust the salt, sprinkle with pepper, and brown the chicken on both sides.

  2. When the chicken is cooked transfer it to a plate, cover it with aluminum food wrap and keep it warm until it is time to use it.

  3. In the pan you have cooked the chicken pour another drizzle of oil and brown the garlic. When it is nicely browned, pour in the Tomato Puree, adjust the salt, add the oregano and cook for about 5 minutes.

  4. Chop the mozzarella and add it to the pan, stirring so that it melts. Also add the chicken slices and continue cooking for another 15 minutes, turning the chicken occasionally.

  5. After this time has passed, turn off the heat and immediately serve the Chicken Pizzaiola piping hot!

If you like, you can also add Black Olives and Capers to the Chicken Pizzaiola. You can also make Chicken Pizzaiola Without Mozzarella, which is ideal if you are looking for a dairy-free version of the dish.

You can make Chicken Pizzaiola with any cut of Chicken: from Bites to Strips, from Thighs to Wings, from Rolls to Drumsticks.

The Chicken Pizzaiola should be eaten fresh, but if it really should be left over you can transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for a day.
