Nutella Crepes are a treat that needs no introduction. Inspired by the French recipe, we’re making them rolled up.

I absolutely love French cooking, especially when it comes to desserts. Crepes were one of the very first sweet dishes I ever made. I think the first time I was 14, or maybe 15. The fact is, they’re really simple to make and don’t require any special skills.

I’ve made a Sweet Crepe Cake for you in the past, but I realized I had never given you the recipe for plain crepes. Lately I’ve been noticing that a lot of “basic” recipes are missing, but I’m catching up. I also made you Potato Crepes with Ham and Cheese, but let’s just say those aren’t exactly crepes.

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs, then add the sugar and milk. Next, add the flour, whisking the mixture constantly. Finally, add the pinch of salt.
  2. Melt a pat of butter in a skillet. Pour some batter into the pan and, when the edges of the crepe start to come away from the pan, flip it, taking care not to tear it. Cook the other side, then transfer the crepe to a plate.
  3. Spread half of the crepe with as much Nutella as you like and fold it in half. Serve your Nutella crepes right away for the best result. Finally, remember to download our App with exclusive content and fewer ads!

Variations and Alternatives

If you love chocolate crepes but want to try something different from classic Nutella crepes, you can replace the Nutella with Pan di Stelle spread, an Italian cocoa and hazelnut spread, to make tasty Pan di Stelle Crepes

Tips

For perfect Nutella crepes, always remember to butter your pan.

Storage

Nutella crepes should be eaten right away, since storing them would spoil them. If you like, you can keep the batter in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, so you can make the crepes fresh whenever you want.
