Shrimp Skewers are a tasty main course with a summery flavor, light yet full of flavor. Great as a main course after a more substantial seafood first course, such as Spaghetti allo Scoglio (Seafood Spaghetti) or Seafood Risotto, they are also wonderful served as finger food for an aperitivo with friends.

These Grilled Shrimp Skewers are very flavorful because they are Marinated in Vermouth with Pink Peppercorns, Thyme, and Marjoram and, after cooking, sprinkled with Lemon Juice. Curious? Then let’s see right away how to make Shrimp Skewers.

Method

  1. To make the Shrimp Skewers, soak the wooden skewers in cold water, if possible submerging them completely and leaving them in the water. Clean the shrimp, removing the shells and heads. Then remove the vein as well, rinse them under running water, and pat them dry.

  2. In a medium bowl, pour in the oil, the vermouth, the crushed pink peppercorns, and the chopped thyme and marjoram, and mix well. Add the shrimp, coating them well on both sides, and let them marinate for about half an hour.

  3. Drain the shrimp well and thread them onto the skewers, then cook them on a griddle or grill pan for a couple of minutes, turning them over halfway through. When they are cooked, plate the Shrimp Skewers and sprinkle them with a squeeze of lemon before serving. Finally, remember to download our App with exclusive content and fewer ads!

Tips

For the best flavor, make the Shrimp Skewers with fresh shrimp, but if you don’t have any, you can also use frozen shrimp. Remember to thaw them completely before using them.

If you are looking for a good side dish for this recipe, I suggest cutting some carrots and zucchini into julienne strips and stir-frying them in a wok.
