The Creamy Tuna Pasta is a Tasty First Course that can be prepared in just half an hour: a tasty and simple Creamy Pasta that you absolutely have to try! The ingredients are pretty basic: tuna in oil to which we have combined black olives and dried tomatoes that give even more character to the sauce. The creaminess is then provided by the sieved tomatoes and the addition of fresh cheese, which makes the dish even more flavorful and irresistible. A true riot of flavors!

The Pasta With Tuna and Olives is the ideal recipe to pull out when needed for a quick family dinner, but also at a convivial dinner with friends. Moreover, it will be perfect whether you decide to prepare it with long pasta (like spaghetti), giving it a more delicate and elegant tone, or in a more rustic version with short pasta (like penne or fusilli).

To make this creamy pasta you won’t need milk at all (please don’t add it!), cheese will be enough. The same goes for broth: that’s absolutely unnecessary as you can simply use the pasta cooking water to dilute your sauce. Also please note this is not a one-pan recipe: you need to boil the pasta and preparare the sauce in two separate pans, but that’s not difficult at all, trust us.

To prepare your Creamy Tuna Pasta, you can use your favorite cream cheese including Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Robiola Cheese (our choice) or even some cooking cream (look at the supermarket, that’s not plain heavy cream but a different product).

Instructions

  1. To prepare Creamy Tuna Pasta first bring a pot of water to a boil to cook the pasta and in the meantime prepare the sauce: in a large frying pan pour a drizzle of Olive oil and add the sieved tomatoes, cook for about 5-6 minutes until it starts to thicken.

  2. Add also the drained tuna, black olives cut into rounds, and dried tomatoes drained and chopped. Let the sauce season for about 10 minutes, then adjust the salt and turn off the heat. At this point you can add the spreadable cheese and mix well to blend the ingredients.

  3. When the pasta is cooked al dente, drain it directly into the sauce pan and toss over high heat for a few moments to allow the sauce to bind with the pasta. Et voilà… your Tuna Creamy Pasta is ready to be served with chopped fresh parsley!

Alternatives

A tasty combination is with the addition of capperi, but we recommend that you always taste the dressing before adjusting for salt, given the savory nature of the ingredients.

Tips

If during the sauté cooking you should realize that the condiment turns out too dense and dry (especially if you will have used long pasta) then add half a ladleful of the pasta cooking water to dilute it: the starch contained within the water will make the dish even creamier.

Storage

Tuna Cream Pasta will keep in the refrigerator, inside an airtight container, for 1 day. When ready to eat, reheat it in a pan by adding a drop of water or milk to make it creamy again.
