There’s no spoon dessert more loved than panna cotta: creamy, light and delicate in flavor, it’s a hit with everyone. That’s why today we’re making Blueberry Panna Cotta, a perfect dessert to end a meal, where the tartness of the berries goes perfectly with the sweetness of the cream.

Making panna cotta is quite simple, even though people often tend to buy the ready-made kind. All you need is some heavy cream, some milk and a couple of gelatin sheets to get the right texture. Then of course there’s sugar and vanilla for flavor. The blueberry sauce, on the other hand, is a sort of jam made with the addition of cornstarch.

Among other panna cotta recipes, we recommend trying Orange Panna Cotta, Kiwi Panna Cotta and Panna Cotta with Strawberry Coulis.

Method

  1. To make the Blueberry Panna Cotta, start by soaking the gelatin sheets in cold water.
  2. Separately, pour the cream, milk, sugar and the seeds scraped from the vanilla bean into a small saucepan and stir. Turn on the heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring now and then.

  3. Turn off the heat and add the gelatin sheets, squeezed out with your hands, stirring with a whisk so they dissolve completely. It’s very important that no lumps remain.
  4. Pour everything into four single-serving glass molds and put them in the fridge until set. This will take about 4-5 hours.
