Method

  1. To make the Cheese and Herb Christmas Trees, start by putting the goat cheese and the Philadelphia in a bowl. Mix well to get a smooth, creamy mixture, then add the grated Parmigiano. Season with salt and pepper and set aside for now.

  3. Arrange the crackers directly on a serving platter.
  4. Now, with damp hands, take small portions of the cheese mixture, work them between your hands and shape them into cones. Roll each cone in the herbs and set it on a cracker.

Variations and Alternatives

You can also make the Cheese and Herb Christmas Trees with other cheeses, such as robiola or ricotta. What matters is that they’re well drained and free of whey, so you get a mixture that’s easy to shape with your hands.

Tips

If you plan to make this appetizer a day ahead, we recommend placing the little trees on the crackers only at the last minute, so the crackers don’t lose their crunch from the moisture in the cheese.

Storage

You can keep the Cheese and Herb Christmas Trees in an airtight container in the fridge for a couple of days. As mentioned above, though, keep in mind that the crackers will lose their crunch fairly quickly.
